RELENTLESS PURSUIT! Ladies Brace Yourselves… Meet A PRO, Grigori Atoyan – NPC USA Champion and MY TRAINER!

Grigori Atoyan 2009 NPC USA Champion

I met Grigori Atoyan (he goes by Greg) over 10 years ago when he worked as a fitness trainer at 24 Hr. Fitness in Folsom.  Greg was my trainer back then and although I was still over weight, I was fit and strong. Now that I’ve lost over 100 pounds I went looking for Greg  to ask him to help me tone, firm-up, and gain muscle definition.  I found Greg at his Max Muscle in Gold River… I wanted to surprise Greg but with caller ID I was busted. He was all smiles when he saw me drive up to his store and get out of my car. He came out to meet me saying “I knew it was you”!

We’re both older.

I’m smaller.

Greg is BIGGER…

He looks awesome!

Check out the November 2009 Muscular Development Magazine. Page 202 – 213 Greg’s amazing 20 year-long journey of body building, which started in his home country Armenia. I’ve just completed my first week of  training with Greg. I trained two days and did cardio five. I am very excited to be working with Greg again. For those still in the weight loss phase I would suggest that you take it easy.  30 minutes of moderate cardio, 3 to 5 days a week is very good. If you start burning lots of calories working out… you may slow or stop your weight loss. After losing 100 pounds and only 11 more to go to my optimal weight, I don’t mind slowing down my weight loss  in order to tone and get muscle definition.

Diabetes Must Be Taken Seriously – Diet is a big factor in blood sugar levels.

101 for Diabetics – – Getting your Blood Sugars in a “Normal” range, is crucial to getting this disease under control. Joe is about 30 pounds over weight. Mid 50’s. Yard work and home projects are his exercise, other than that he works behind a desk all week long.  He’s married and has been pre-diabetic for about four years now.  Joe is taking oral medications only. He has not had to go the route of insulin shots, thank God for him. Have a look at Joe’s BEFORE chart going back to 2007  – Blood Sugar Levels:
A Blood Sugar "Normal Range" is 90 to 110 give or take...

A Blood Sugar “Normal Range” is 90 to 110 give or take…

About May of 2009 in addition to his Metformin, Glipizide was added (1 twice a day) to try and bring down his levels. It worked – but it caused his levels to drop too low, so he had to back off the dosage.
Glipizide 1 tablet twice a day was added to the Metformin to bring his levels down.

Glipizide 1 tablet twice a day was added to the Metformin to bring his levels down.

Then Joe decided to go on program.  He started Sunday September 20th, 2009. About a week after he started losing weight he checked his blood sugar levels.

They had dropped into a “Normal” range.

Now,  just finishing his 3rd week his blood sugars are in the 90’s.  Joe shared with me that he had not taken either of his medications this past Sunday and his sugars tested 97 in the morning and 90 in the evening. Joe is doing great and his doctor is happy too.

My First Pair of SIZE 10 Pants! (baby’s got new shoes)

A New Day, A New Me!
I am ecstatic about losing the 100 lbs.
AND…Losing another 1.5 lbs today made me even happier.
This afternoon I headed over to Dress Barn “Misses” and picked up my FIRST pair of size 10 pants! I don’t ever remember wearing anything less than a fourteen, even in high school… So I’m feeling pretty darn skinny right at the moment….and it feels good.
Me – Size 10!

100.2 – Pounds GONE!

Today is a very good day!

I have officially “discarded”: a 100 Pounds from my 5’3” body!

 My current weight is: 154.8

This morning as I stood, looking down at the scale it honestly took me a second or longer to process I was under, 155 Pounds!

  • First there was “disbelief”. I honestly thought I was going to see the scale go up again today.
  • Then “some” excitement.  I had to be sure. So I got off… and got back on!  And it still read 154.8
    • “!!!OMG it must be true!!!”….. processed in my head.
  • And as hard as it may be to believe, “I was quiet”. I just took-in the moment.

I didn’t scream. There may have been a little giggle from some place, and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t “Boone”, my Springer.  Although he appeared happy for me, but then… he’s always pretty happy.

What I did next… I ran for my camera!  Decided to toss on a t-shirt just in case there was a reflection… I do look better naked, but I won’t be joining a nudist colony any time soon.

And took a photo of my SACLE!

Go ahead and call me silly – that’s just me!

This has been one of the most amazing accomplishments of my life. It has taken me nearly all my 55 years on this earth to get my weight dialed in. It’s been a three year journey between Weight Watchers and Take Shape For Life and… so worth it.

Thank you for being a part of my success through my blog site!

My healthy – “optimal weight” (BMI) is 140 pounds.  I’m not done losing just yet, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Today is a very good day!

“85” – Sugar Level This Morning!

For any one who struggles with diabetes let me share my husbands, John’s super news with you.

John has been on diabetes medication for several years and its been impossible to get his sugars under control.  His range has been from 180 to 230 for the longest time.

Currently he takes:

  • Metformin 850mg – 1 tablet, twice a day
  • Nabumetone 750mg – 1/4 tablet, twice a day

Even with these two medication his sugars were still running 120-130 at best.

This morning marked two weeks for John on program.

He has lost 9 1/2 pounds.

AND

His blood sugars have  leveled out and are “NORMAL”.

He took a blood test this morning BEFORE he took his meds

and his sugars tested at: “85”

This program is helping him lose weight and cut out sugars and cut back on carbs.

We are both very thankful.

Give it a Try!  You’re worth it… and so is your health.
