IT IS POSSIBLE: A New, Sexy, Smaller Bathing Suit. Summer is just around the corner… and so is a slimmer you!

Before you roll your eye and shake your head let me just say… IT IS POSSIBLE! You can be wearing a new, sexy bathing suit before you know it. I’m not making this up either. It happen for me and it can happen for you too.

Have a look at me in a bathing suit when I “thought” I looked good! OMG did I need a reality check. Wearing a  3xxx size 24 from Macy’s.

Shopping — instead of just looking. After losing 100 pounds I can buy clothes off the rack now. I shopped for a new bathing suit.

On Vacation in Mexico — Shopping in Cabo December 2009 (new smaller bathing suit)

Did you know Cabo has a Harley Davidson store right next to Ruth Chris Steak House?  Yes – Cabo has it all from the funky little stores to the fancy designer stuff.  It’s all here.

In the mall just off the marina there is a bathing suit store. If you’ve been to Cabo you know the one I’m talking about.  Well as a former size 24 they were off limits to me. Oh I’d still go in and have a look, but they didn’t have anything that would fit my plus size body.  Well today was different. I went in to shop!

I am very happy to share with you my new 3 piece bathing suit!

Now shopping is actually getting fun!

The top is an 8 with an underwire built in, and the bottom is a 12.  A lot better than a 24!  I love the genie pants that match. (medium)

I bought a swim suit that before I could only dream of wearing.

When I got back to the resort after walking and shopping for half a day, I have to tell you… I hit the gym.  This is how I’m going to keep my weight in check and build some muscle mass.  The “old fat me” would have run down to the pool because it was still happy hour, and order up a couple of high calorie, sugary drinks before the bell rung.  The new me…would rather spend that hour happily working out.

I did just over 20 minutes on the treadmill doing an interval of: walk 3 minutes and then jog for 5 minutes, repeat this 3 times. Then I did light weight training for about 40 minutes.  This felt good knowing I am making the changes in my life that will promote good health, and keep my weight off for ever!

It was the night before Christmas, and What thoughts did it bring? My mind said to me…Why not have a big fling?

CHRISTMAS POEM

It was the night before Christmas and,

What thoughts did it bring?

My mind said to me.

Why not have a big fling?

There were pies in the oven,

Sugared nuts in the jar!

There were snacks for the party.

And booze in the bar.

No! I’ll resist the temptation,

I will keep a strong head,

I’ll not eat a bite!

And I climbed into bed.

When out of my stomach,

There came such a roar.

I sprang from the bed,

Landing flat on the floor.

Away to the kitchen,

I flew like a flash.

Tore open the fridge,

To do something RASH!

A light from within,

Gave off such a glow,

To the objects of food,

Laid on trays there below.

I was going to grab,

An odd goodie or two,

When into my mind,

Came my promise to you.

Before I could have,

Any snack food to eat,

I must put on my coat

And get out of my feet.

I got into my coat,

My warm gloves and shoes,

Determined to walk,

For the goodies I’d choose.

The moon on the breast,

Of the new fallen snow,

And on houses and trees,

Gave a sparkle and glow.

As I walked down the street,

My mind did recall,

The words that we’d spoken,

At the Dieters Hall.

Of leaders through which,

I ambitiously sat,

For words of encouragement,

To help shed this fat.

I spoke not a word,

When my walk was done,

I felt so renewed,

I knew I had won.

I walked past the kitchen,

Without turning my head.

I smiled in the mirror,

As I headed for bed.

And I said to myself,

As I turned out the light,

With my mind, will and body.

I have fought the good fight.

Cabo San Lucas Mexican Mixed Fruit Cup topped with Chili Sauce! Out of this world good.

Discovery… A Mexican Sidewalk Fruit Cup Extraordinaire!

 As my husband entered the Fishing Shop the lady on the corner fruit stand caught my eye.  She was making the biggest cup of fresh fruit to-go for this gal. I though she must have a blender and was making smoothies.  No blender. Just a sharp knife and lot’s of fruit.

 When she added salt, drizzled Chili-Coconut Sauce over the top and squeezed fresh lime juice, I was in shock.  I had to try this for myself. Lucky for you my husband had the video camera. You’re in for a treat now.

 

As my good friend Hilda would say… We all need a little fruit in our diets!

 If you’re on the 5&1 Meal Plan… just enjoy the video for now. Once you lose your weight you can introduce back in fruit and I do suggest you give this a whirl.  It’s yummy.

Losing weight has opened my eyes and changed my reality. Flying is so much better now than before, when I was smashed into the airplane set.

I’d like to share with you my most recent flight down to Cabo… and the changes I experienced for the first time.

As a former size 24, fitting in the airplane seat was always uncomfortable and once down right painful. Now at a size 10, life is a lot easier, and airplane seats are a lot more roomier than before.

I remember about ten years ago, I had asked for a seat belt extender. Not only was I embarrassed to ask for one, but I didn’t fit into the seat. My body was in pain. Then to my surprise and horror… they didn’t have one.  I guess that’s something I needed to know to bring. 

 Well this trip was different. I didn’t bring a seat extender… I didn’t need one!

I could cross my legs with ease.  The tray table actually came all the way down to where it’s supposed to be, instead of stopping at my gut! I could even turn around in the bathroom and put on lipstick! Life is so different now.

Life is Good – Thin!

Ready for Take Off… fasten your seat belt, if you can! I felt helpless.

As a former fatty flying was the ultimate test on just how much I had gained from year to year…

Those seats kept getting smaller and smaller… At least that was my reality. Heaven forbid that I could actually be getting bigger and bigger….

I remember a flight my cousin Donna Conway and I took to Aruba. I could not fit in the seat.

The steel arms were welded down and my hips squeezed so tightly — I hurt.

The worst was yet to come…

The seat belt was a good 6 inches too short!

The seat belt had to have been designed for tiny little people. Maybe it was a kids only flight I’d gotten on by mistake. Now that I think back, that had to be why I didn’t fit in the seat.  Even my cousin was feeling the pinch, but not as bad as me.

I thought that this could never happen to me.

I asked the flight attendant for a seat belt extender

They didn’t have one!

I flew all the way to Aruba in physical pain and mental agony.

I was beyond embarrassed… I was OBESE!

Today was a much different experience and one I just have to share with you. It blew me away when I saw just what a 103 pounds looks like from an air plane seat.

If you are where I was just a few years ago, there is a light at the end of the runway and it’s not another air plane. It’s a way to get your weight off quickly and safely. I was successful doing Weight Watchers for my first year, and after hitting a plateau went on Medifast after getting the inside scoop from my good friends Dudley and Sherry. Now I am 10 pounds from my optimal health and traveling is taking on a whole new feel!

It’s Chef Cindi, Cooking Up Mushroom Omelet & Stuffed Bell Peppers

WARNING… Don’t watch this video if you’re hungry!

You can smell the mushrooms on the stove and the turkey meat simmering… This was so yummy.  I made the  mushroom omelet this morning for my breakfast. It turned out great!

The Stuffed Bell Peppers were a hit. Cindi added one can of tomato sauce and fresh herbs from my garden to the turkey meat. We steamed the peppers for 5 minutes in the microwave. Very easy to make, cooked in no time, and was delicious.

TIP: Winter time can make it harder to get in all the water we need because it’s cold out. We still need to drink 8 to 10 glasses a day. Try taking a water infuser like a 5 calorie pink lemonade and making it with hot water. It will warm you up and help get your water in.

Cindi prepared and demonstrated a wide variety of delicious meal ideas.  She started by baking cooking and made the house smell wonderful.  Did you know that from 1 package of Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal you get 10 cookies! We decided cookies and coffee makes a great mid morning or evening meal replacement.  This is a must make!
